St. James Infirmary Blues, acoustic guitar lesson. Learn how to play it.

Me trying to show an easy version of this classic tune. Feel free to ask questions. This songs structure is similar to House of the Rising Sun. It has 2 parts that repeat, and those two parts are divided into 2 smaller phrases, one of which is also repeated. It would look something like AB AC

(R)evolution of Rock Guitar-Fractal Audio Axe-Fx Ultra Preamp/Effects processor-Part 3-Ketil Strand

(R)evolution of Rock Guitar – Fractal Audio Axe-Fx Ultra Preamp/Effects processor Part III Played by Ketil Strand. This is a new version of my “Evolution of Rock Guitar” video series, which is also a demo of my new Fractal Audio Systems Axe-Fx Ultra Pre-amp/Effects processor. This time I used the Axe-Fx Ultra exclusively for all guitar sounds and effects and recorded it direct in Cubase, no extra “tricks” done in the mix or anything, it’s all coming from the Axe-Fx (except the backing tracks of course..) But I’m using many different guitars as shown and mentioned in the video. I’ve also mentioned some of the amp types and effects from the Axe-Fx that I’m using on the different tracks, if anybody should need more specific details, please contact me (the Axe-Fx has thousands of parameters to adjust..). European distributor of Fractal Audio/Axe-Fx: www.g66.eu www.ketilstrand.com

Mediterranean Sundance / Rio Ancho – Friday Night in San Francisco 1980

The two best guitarists of the world Better guitarists of all times The gods of the guitar they are Paco de Lucia and Al di Meola The song consists of a relatively simple lyrical harmonic progression, adorned by a flamenco rhythm. However, it poses extreme difficulties to the performers, due to the speed and precision required of Di Meola’s picking on the steel-stringed guitar, playing extremely long melodic phrases, and to Paco De Lucia’s complex fingerpicking on the Flamenco guitar, as well as the exact matching of Di Meola and De Lucía’s solos which frequently consist of them both playing a rapid set of matching or corresponding notes. They resort to many guitar performance techniques and fingerstyles, such as drumming guitar tops, strumming (both solo and together), bare thumb plucking, palm muting, tremolo picking, hammer-ons and pull-offs, sweep picking, shredding, vibratos and glissandos, among others, with remarkable results. The song, a rich combination of melody and rhythm, was an instant success.

Larry Carlton – 335 Improv – Soloing Concepts in Play – Blues Guitar Lessons

FULL COURSE: truefire.com More blues guitar lessons: www.truefire.com TF on Twitter www.twitter.com TF on Facebook: www.truefire.com I’m soloing over the “Room 335″ A Section in this video (chart available in the PowerTab from clip 5:1). The solo moves right along but notice that it’s dominated by the major pentatonic scale (see the PowerTab from 5:2 for more on A major pentatonic and F major pentatonic). Bends, slides, double-stops and pedals all add nuance and expressiveness. It’s also easy to find some very effective common tones to play over these changes, so try seeking out a single note or two at first and experiment with the track. Be aware of the form – again, you want to be sure you know what’s coming in the rhythm part so you can make the appropriate changes in your soloing. I think you’ll see that a few relatively simple concepts can give way to a lot of good music when you use them tastefully.

Guitar Lesson – Mimi Fox – Flying Solo – Blues Walking Bass Peformance

FULL COURSE: truefire.com Join TrueFire for free – www.truefire.com On Twitter – http On Facebook – www.truefire.com The most important aspect of walking bass lines is the “feel”! While you are trying hard to “cop” my licks, remember to emulate the actual feeling and guitaristic nuances/dynamic shading that are happening. The technique will come if you practice diligently, but the FEEL of what I am doing is far more important. Listen closely! It’s a good idea to practice developing strong bass lines WITHOUT chords first, then add the chords later.
